Who Are We?

In existence since 1916, Annunciation School is a member of Catholic Independent Schools of the Diocese of Prince George. We provide a safe and nurturing environment, where dedicated and experienced staff provide a variety of engaging learning activities for students throughout the school day.

We meet all BC Ministry of Education requirements regarding Curriculum and Teacher Certification. We are proud to provide a solid academic program in all core subject areas. Students are held to a high standard for their quality of work and overall conduct. Daily homework is assigned, with strong emphasis on reading practice and math skills.

Through Visual Arts, Music and Drama, students are encouraged to explore and develop their creative gifts.

Annunciation School and Parish work in partnership to promote and convey our Catholic traditions. Students are immersed in their faith life through daily prayer, formal religious instruction and liturgies. The whole school comes together once a month to celebrate Mass.

All students are members of the Holy Childhood Association. Students learn about and pray for needy children in the world. Fundraisers for Holy Childhood are organized by various classes during the school year.

Our Physical Education specialist offers well-developed programs for students of all grade levels. Emphasis is placed on continued progression of skills and teamwork. PE classes are active, fun and always a favourite for the students.

Classes take advantage of educational programs offered at the local Library, Museum and Performing Arts Centre, as well as walking field trips to explore the natural beauty of our city.

Parent support is integral to the life of our school. We work closely with parents to provide consistency and progression for all students. There are many opportunities for parents (grandparents, too!) to help with field trips, fundraising, reading with children, co-coaching team sports, craft activities and musical productions.

We are thankful to have ongoing support from members of Annunciation Parish and other Prince Rupert organizations.
